‘’Esprit tours provided an outstanding service for our recent trip to Ypres. The trip planning and consultation pre-tour was meticulous and delivered with military precision …this was much appreciated given our tour was for blind and partially sighted young people and service veterans.  The tour guide Brian, provided wonderful reflections on the Great War, peppered with intriguing and captivating short stories of individual soldiers serving 1914-1918. He demonstrated a deep knowledge, which was thoughtfully matched to the sights of interest chosen to stop at in relation to the needs of our visually impaired group. The flow of information during the journey brought the trip to life for us. It was encouraging to have post –trip visits by Esprit including for our Armistice assembly. Professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful and caring; thank you Esprit’’ - Dr Patterson, Headmaster

‘Esprit Tour Service provide a 10/10 service from start to finish. Our guide Brain had excellent knowledge of the subject and really offered a fantastic insight. A big thank you to all involved.’ - Mr Morgan

‘’The Somme Battlefields trip last weekend (9-12 July 2016) was one of the most remarkable and emotional trips we ALL (group) have ever experienced -- ALL due to Esprit's overall skills in organisation, intelligence of the product and friendly group atmosphere created. For 11 adult strangers when we met to leave as firm friends 4 days later upon departing is the highest accolade any tour company business can achieve.

The four things that make a good trip (in my eyes) are: a great itinerary; a knowledgeable guide; comfortable transport and accommodation AND ‘that little extra mile’ an organiser is prepared to go, if called upon. ESPRIT scored full marks on all four.

Brian (Esprit tour guide) was a fountain of knowledge, which he passed on with infectious enthusiasm, with respect where required and with an alternative ‘slant’ where necessary, which none of us in the group had considered. What was also noticeable was Brian’s in-depth answers (on a one-to-one basis during the coach trip) to group individuals who needed more explanation on possible activities of WW1 ancestors during their last battle.

I (personally and with pleasure), will pass on and recommend your company to anybody wanting to do the same in the future.’ - Mr and Mrs Chant

‘’Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service Fire Cadets are currently working in partnership with St Vincent’s school and were delighted to be asked to join them on an organised trip to YPRES. The Fire Cadet Co-ordinator Suzy Tosi-Nile stated that “From the onset, it was a very humbling and unique experience.  It involved a diverse group of people young and old– from visually impaired students, sighted children, blind veterans, a poet and a missionary, all of whom were from different walks of life, who all shared this fascinating experience together.

The tour was an incredibly well organised trip, which was headed by our tour guide Brian [Esprit Tour Services], who was incredibly knowledgeable and shared many fascinating stories. He was instrumental in making the tour such an emotional journey for many of us.

The fire cadets and myself were very overwhelmed by the experience we had and it will be something that we will cherish forever.’’ - Suzy, Cadet Leader

‘Just to say thank you to everyone personally for making this trip very enjoyable, this particular group made it very relaxed and enjoyable for me.

To the Esprit team I would just like to say a big thank you, your knowledge is exceptional, very interesting.

As an adult army cadet instructor we appreciate the skill of how to grasp the audience's attention, especially when it's a vast subject. Brian and Nick you were absolutely brilliant, a credit to you.’ - Mr Adams

‘This is to say a huge thank you for the way yourselves handled our Somme tour. As you know we were lucky enough to get tickets for Memorial 1st July 2016. From the moment we contacted you and booked until we came home, everything you planned went off so well, the journey, accommodation and the guide. I especially loved the military history of my relative given to me. It was truly a wonderful experience and yourselves made it so. Once again thank you.’ – Mrs Scrivener

‘’Ken was the most interesting person we have met in a long time.  He was very knowledgeable about everything to do with WW1 and really brought it all to life for us, his explanations of each site we visited was amazing and it was our great pleasure to visit even though we have no known relatives who took part, it was very surreal to learn the facts and figures of the enormous amount of lost lives.  He did Esprit proud and we would have no hesitation in recommending your tours to anyone interested.’’ - Mr and Mrs Davies

‘’Thanks so much for the whole WW1 experience last week. Your company was professional from start to finish and it was helpful and engaging that you asked what we were studying to tailor the workshop to exactly what the pupils needed before reading the books. Your company was punctual, efficient and the relationship you built with the kids was lovely to see.  It was an exciting hands-on experience that the pupils learnt a lot from. They particularly loved the artefacts and loved being able to touch ‘something real’.

We will definitely use your service in the future.’’ – Miss Fallows, Head of English

‘’I am just emailing to say thank you very much for today's sessions. The pupils really enjoyed the presentation and were talking about it for the rest of the day.’’ – Miss Seddon, Head of History

‘We have had an amazing day at school. The children really enjoyed the presentations and have learned so much. Esprit provided a wonderful World War 1 presentation for St. Michael's on Wyre Primary School. The room was transformed into a WW1 trench, where the children could experience what life was like for the soldiers. There was a wide variety of authentic artefacts for the children to explore, and the knowledge and professional of staff was second to none.

All of the children learned more about life during the conflict and they were keen to ask questions, which were answered expertly.  This kind of presentation brings history to life, being engaging and inspiring.’’

‘It was a great enriching experience to be included on Esprit's Battlefield trip to the Somme. I felt very humbled by the sights and information supplied by your team.  I would certainly recommend your services’ - Mrs Patchett

‘’I have recently come back from The Somme trip, July 2016.

It was an amazing experience, especially meeting the tour guide Brian Gillbanks and Nicholas Walmsley.  They both treated us with kindness and sympathy when 5 of the party visited our relatives’ graves, wreaths were even supplied for us. This meant so much to me.  It was a very emotional trip.  What actually brought the whole experience to life was the running commentary from Brian explaining the background of the war.  He even found time to talk me through my relatives’ war experiences and bringing his story to life.

I would certainly recommend anyone to take a trip to the Somme with Esprit.  A well-organised trip with lovely people.’’ - Mrs Marsland

‘Thanks for your email Nick, and thanks to you, Brian and Lynn for your company and your professionalism and for the way that you looked after each and every one of us on this journey to the Somme.  We were all there for different reasons and you took the time and effort to make sure that we each had everything we needed to make the most of the experience.   You should be very proud of your company and what you have achieved and the service you provide is second to none.’ - Mrs Carleton
